It is only October but Americas Cardroom has an early Christmas gift for the many online poker players on the site. This month sees the Punta Cana Poker Classic (PCPC) in the Dominican Republic. This is its 7th outing and it has become a solid fixture in the poker tournament scene, allowing poker enthusiasts both old and new to experience some fun under the sun.
Americas Cardroom has been marketing the Punta Cana Poker Classic hard to its player base. Since early this year, the online poker site has been awarding reward packages as the prize for some of its tournaments. This gives online poker players a chance to make the jump from the digital playing field to the real world. With the PCPC happening in the second half of October, Americas Cardroom has plans to make it possible for more of its players to come to the tournament.
Michael Harris, spokesperson for Americas Cardroom, said:
“With a new venue, we’re more excited than ever about this year’s Punta Cana Poker Classic. So this year, we’re going all out to make sure more players win their way to paradise for the poker vacation of a lifetime, not to mention the chance at the PCPC championship title.”
As Americas Cardroom’s final push, the US-facing online poker site plans to set up nine additional satellite tournaments awarding 16 packages for this year’s Punta Cana Poker Classic. This will allow online poker players to win an all-inclusive poker vacation for as little as $5.
From Oct. 1 to 9, Americas Cardroom plans to offer nine satellite tournaments that will offer a total of 16 prize packages to its top winners. The site already offers seven prize packages to top players in its weekly $50+5 Beast and Sit & Crush satellite tournaments.
The result is that there are 30 guaranteed prize packages to be won during this nine-day period.
One satellite tournament will be open each day starting Oct. 1. With buy-ins starting as low as $5+0.50, players will get their money’s worth, especially since each Punta Cana Poker Classic prize package includes the $1,500+150 buy-in to the $500k GTD Main Event, six nights of accommodations for two at the five-star Melia Caribe Tropical, roundtrip airfare up to $800, free golf, a $250 spa credit and more.
Four of the 16 packages include entries to the $3000+200 buy-in High Roller event. The total value of such packages would be up to $8,100. All packages will also have six $50 tickets to use for Sit & Go 2.0 Live or Jackpot Poker, two of Americas Cardroom’s newest tournament offerings.
This year’s Punta Cana Poker Classic is set for Oct. 25 to 31. It will be held at a new venue: The Level at Melia Caribe Tropical. In previous years, it was held in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The move is a good one since it gives players a lot of options since the Melia Caribe Tropical is an all-inclusive resort, with restaurants, bars, and other recreation.
With 15 poker events over six days, the Punta Cana Poker Classic turns the resort into a poker paradise. With several high buy-in events, players can possibly rack up a lot of money when they play. Besides playing poker, players will also have access to the resorts facilities like its swimming pools and golf course which will give them a chance to relax after a tense tournament.
The Punta Cana Poker Classic will be an incredible opportunity for many online poker players to enjoy the game in a unique environment.
